Biography

Siblings: 1 older brother, 25
Favorite Athlete: Troy Polamalu

Favorite softball memory: Before leaving my best friend to go to different colleges to continue what we love, we would stay after each practice of our senior year replaying memories, taking photos and making video skits around the field and indoor complex of things that we can look back and reflect on. At the end of the season we were able to put together a huge book of memories that we are able to keep and remember forever.

What brought you to Clark: When Coach Hill first asked my travel team coach about 2015 players, I said heck no. The Vancouver area never really struck my interest. After a couple college visits and nothing that settled with me quite like I had hoped. I decided to come down to Clark College for a visit and instantly fell in love with the environment and the girls that were there to show me around. Obviously scholarship money helped encourage my decision but I love being a penguin!

Best thing about Clark: The best thing about Clark college is the opportunities that they offer to their students. I love that it's a larger junior college but all staff members show care to each and every student. Clark College is a great stepping stone in helping you reach your long term goals! If I wasn't here for softball I would say that in general Clark is an awesome place to be!

Softball past: High school highlights?  Summer ball teams, when did you start playing?

I started playing ball back in the tee-ball days. It wasn't until high school that I decided this would be the sport I would continue with, but now that all of my time is invested into softball, I couldn't imagine going anywhere else for anything else!

Favorite Quote: "Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or a hour, or even a year, but eventually it will subside and something else will make it's place. If you quit however, it will last forever
Favorite Movie: 21 & 22 Jumpstreet

Favorite thing about softball: Theres no such thing as a favorite thing about softball. It's all the little things that add that make the game beautiful. It's the sly shrugs of having to put the tarp out, it's the pair-running before getting started making you feel like no one is left out, it's the loud chants in the dugouts cheering on your teammates, its the high-five line after a killer pre-game seeing 15+ girls with lit up faces all there for the same goal. I love the adrenaline. The personal sadness, pressure, intensity, and emotions that come from each play. Not only has softball shown me true friendships but this game has taught me a lot about life. Throughout the years, this sport of failure has taught me to be humble, patient, and grateful for the opportunities I have been awarded. I've learned to be torn apart, and sewn back together through handwork and determination.  The best part of softball overall is the the competitiveness. If being surrounded by girls working hard at the same thing isn't motivation for yourself to do better and to be better, I don't know what is.

Quote for this season: "Sit up, put your feet on the floor, and don't look back, because we got work to do"
