TUKWILA, Wash. — Sept. 2, 2026 — The Clark College men's soccer team battled through a competitive road match Wednesday evening, falling 3-0 to Highline at Starfire Sports Complex.
Despite the result, the Penguins showed resilience throughout the 90-minute contest, particularly in the second half, when Clark increased its offensive pressure and created several opportunities in the attacking third.
Highline opened the scoring in the 15th minute when Landon Lee finished a chance assisted by Frank Meza. The Thunderbirds added a second goal in the 23rd minute, taking a 2-0 advantage into halftime.
Clark came out with increased attacking pressure after the break, recording five of its eight total shots in the second half. The Penguins also earned four second-half corner kicks and finished the match with seven corners overall.
Forward Mason Renner led Clark with three shots, putting two on frame, while Christopher Solano added three shots, including one on target. Hazim Huskic contributed two shots and one shot on goal.
In goal, Glenn Kolibas turned in a strong performance for the Penguins, making nine saves while playing all 90 minutes. His nine stops helped keep Clark within striking distance as the match progressed.
Highline added its third goal in the 55th minute, with Lee scoring his second of the night off an assist from John Majankeka.
Clark continued to compete through the final whistle, finishing with eight shots, four shots on goal and seven corner kicks. The Penguins also held a 4-3 advantage in second-half corner kicks, reflecting the team's increased pressure following halftime.
The Penguins will look to build on that second-half effort as they continue the early-season schedule. With the attacking pressure picking up after the break and Kolibas providing a steady presence in goal, Clark will look to carry those positives into its next match.
Next up, Clark travels to Olympia to face South Puget Sound (0-4, 0-2) on Saturday.
