Penguins Complete Four Game Sweep Of Grays Harbor With Two More Wins

VANCOUVER, WA — April 18, 2026 — The Clark College baseball team closed out its series against Grays Harbor in dominant fashion Friday, defeating the Chokers 14–4 at Kindsfather Field to complete a sweep and continue its strong conference run.

Clark improved to 13–16 overall and 8–4 in conference play, while Grays Harbor dropped to 1–35 and 0–12.

Clark struck early and never let go of control, scoring in each of the first four innings. The opening run came in the first when Taddeo Ituarte doubled home Caden Taylor. In the second inning, Clark extended the lead to 3–0 after Taylor added an RBI double and later stole home as part of an aggressive baserunning sequence.

The Penguins continued to apply pressure in the third and fourth innings. DJ Ringenbach added an RBI sacrifice fly in the third, and the fourth inning turned into a breakout frame with four runs scoring on a string of timely hits. Kobin Mullins, Kaedon Cruse, Ringenbach, and Parker Peschel all contributed RBI knocks as Clark built an 8–0 advantage.

Grays Harbor managed to respond with runs in the fifth and again in the seventh, using walks and singles to trim the deficit to 8–4. But each time the visitors showed life, Clark answered quickly.

The decisive moment came in the bottom of the seventh inning when Clark broke the game open for good. Kobin Mullins delivered a bases-clearing double to extend the lead, Rylan Taguchi followed with an RBI single, and Parker Peschel capped the inning with a two-run double—his second double of the game—to push the score to 14–4 and end the contest.

On the mound, starter Garrett Maunu set the tone with 5.2 strong innings, allowing just one earned run while striking out four. The bullpen handled the remainder, preserving the lead despite some late traffic.

Offensively, Clark finished with 16 hits and consistent production throughout the lineup. Caden Taylor reached base multiple times and scored four runs, Mullins drove in four RBIs, and Peschel led the way with a four-hit, three-RBI performance. DJ Ringenbach also contributed two RBIs, while the lineup as a whole combined patient at-bats with aggressive baserunning to keep pressure on Grays Harbor's defense.

The win capped a productive series for Clark, which showed steady offensive growth and timely pitching across all three games. The Penguins will look to carry that momentum forward as conference play continues.
