VANCOUVER, Wash. -
Game 1 - In what can only be described as a slugfest, the Clark Penguins fought tooth and nail to earn a dramatic 14–13 victory over Chemeketa in extra innings on Wednesday. The game featured explosive bats, clutch hitting, and multiple lead changes, with Clark ultimately outlasting the Storm in a nine-inning thriller.
Chemeketa came out swinging early, with Jessica Rule launching a two-run homer in the first to set the tone. Despite the early deficit, Clark responded quickly with Gabriela Ventura's sacrifice fly in the bottom half to cut the lead to 2–1.
The seesaw battle continued in the third when Sophia Lawrence delivered a two-run double, giving Clark its first lead at 3–2. Chemeketa answered right back with a four-run fourth inning, powered by Abigail Archuleta's two-run double and Rule's RBI single.
But the Penguins were far from done.
Clark's fifth inning was an offensive explosion: Lily Ferres knocked in a run with a single, then Rylee Purdom followed with a three-run blast to deep left, flipping the game on its head. Paige Scoggin added a solo homer to give the Penguins a 7–5 lead heading into the sixth.
Chemeketa surged again in the sixth with four runs, highlighted by Rule's clutch two-run double and McKenna Dodge's RBI double, reclaiming the lead at 9–7. Clark countered with two runs in the bottom of the frame thanks to Scoggin's two-run single to even the score at 9–9.
A sacrifice fly and a bases-loaded walk pushed Chemeketa ahead 11–9 in the seventh, but the Penguins chipped away with Promise Bond's RBI single in the bottom half, bringing the score to 11–10.
Two unearned runs by Chemeketa in the ninth seemed to put the game out of reach, but Clark refused to back down. Ventura plated a run with a single before Ferres came through in the clutch once again—this time with a two-run double to right-center, sending the home crowd into a frenzy and sealing the 14–13 walk-off victory.
Offensive Leaders for Clark:
Despite 19 hits from Chemeketa—including six RBIs from Rule and five hits from Archuleta—Clark's resilience and late-inning heroics carried the day.

Game 2 - The Clark Penguins struggled to find their footing Saturday afternoon, falling 17–0 to a red-hot Chemeketa lineup that delivered a near-flawless performance at the plate and on the mound.
Chemeketa wasted no time getting on the board, plating three runs in the first inning, including a two-RBI single by McKenna Dodge and a run scored on a passed ball. The second inning saw the Storm break things wide open with a bases-clearing triple from Calli Weaving and an RBI groundout from Ruby Shumaker, giving them a 7–0 lead.
Things didn't slow down from there.
Jessica Rule continued her monstrous offensive season, launching two three-run home runs—one in the third and another in the fourth—finishing the day 3-for-4 with 6 RBIs. Weaving added a 3-for-4 performance with 3 RBIs and a triple, while Archuleta scored 4 runs and went 4-for-5 at the plate.
Clark's offense never quite got going, managing just four hits across five innings against Rule, who tossed a five-inning shutout, striking out four and walking none.
On the defensive side, the Penguins were plagued by errors, committing five in total, leading to four unearned runs. Pitchers Isabella Weibe and Lily Ferres combined to allow 17 runs (13 earned) on 16 hits.
Despite the lopsided result, Clark saw solid contact from Delaney Bollman, Sophia Lawrence, Gabriela Ventura, and Paige Scoggin, each recording a hit.
