Clark Falls Short in OT, in Sweet 16 Matchup vs TVCC

PASCO, Wash. - In a hard-fought battle on Friday night, Clark College came up just short against Treasure Valley, falling 82-79 in a thrilling contest at Columbia Basin College - Holden Court, the site of the NWAC Championship tournament. Despite the loss, Clark put up an impressive fight, with standout performances across the board.

Jackson Esary led the way for the Penguins with a stellar 28-point performance, adding six rebounds and two blocks in his 45 minutes of action. Esary was relentless, scoring in a variety of ways and keeping Clark within striking distance throughout the contest.

Clark started strong, putting up 42 points in the first half and taking a narrow halftime deficit of 44-42. Esary and Theo McMillan provided a steady offensive presence, with McMillan contributing 13 points, nine rebounds, and six assists.

In the second half, Clark continued to battle, matching Treasure Valley's intensity. Terrell Moorer Jr. played a key role off the bench, tallying 16 points and six rebounds, while Noah Toastovrsnik provided a strong presence inside with 12 rebounds and eight points.

The game remained tight into the final minutes, but Treasure Valley managed to hold off Clark's late push, securing the win with crucial defensive stops. Clark's offense cooled off in the final period, managing only six points in overtime, allowing Treasure Valley to escape with the win.

Despite the loss, Clark showed resilience.

It was the first time since 2017 that the penguins made an appearance in post-season play, and securing a share of the Southern Region Title.
