Clark Battles Back to Earn 3-3 Draw at Lower Columbia

LONGVIEW, Wash. – Clark College women's soccer showed grit and resilience Wednesday afternoon, storming back from two separate deficits to secure a 3-3 draw against Lower Columbia at North Lake Field.

Lower Columbia struck early, netting goals in the 4th and 11th minutes to grab a 2-0 lead. The Penguins answered in the 18th minute when Isabel McCauley buried a finish off an assist from Bellaliis Town, trimming the deficit to 2-1 heading into halftime.

The Red Devils extended their lead to 3-1 midway through the second half, but Clark refused to fold. Freshman Nora Herinckx provided a spark in the 79th minute, scoring off a feed from Lainey Haden to pull the Penguins back within one. Just five minutes later, Bella Rodriguez delivered the equalizer, leveling the match at 3-3 in the 84th minute.

Goalkeeper Ella Lulich kept Clark in the match with a standout performance, recording 15 saves against a relentless Lower Columbia attack that fired 21 total shots.

The Penguins tallied 11 shots of their own, showing balance and persistence in the attack. Town and Haden each contributed key assists, while McCauley, Herinckx, and Rodriguez provided the finishing touch to Clark's three-goal effort.

With the result, Clark moves to 3-1-2 overall (3-1-2 NWAC), while Lower Columbia sits at 3-4-3 (2-2-2 NWAC).

Clark continues conference play this weekend in a key home match against Highline College. The match begins at 2:30pm on Kim Christensen Field.
