Coos Bay, Ore. - In a commanding performance, Clark College's women's basketball team showcased their prowess against Southwestern Oregon, securing an emphatic 84-53 win on the road.

From the opening tip-off, Clark set the tone with an explosive first half, pouring in 42 points while limiting their opponents to 31. Emily Peabody led the charge with a dominant double-double, scoring 17 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Jayda Jackson and Promise Bond contributed 14 and 13 points respectively, as Clark's offense clicked with precision.

Defensively, Clark capitalized on turnovers and controlled the boards, out-rebounding Southwestern Oregon 54-33. Mia Hicks-Oliver's seven rebounds and Sophia Wright's defensive efforts were crucial in stifling Southwestern Oregon's offensive rhythm.

Despite a brief scoreless second quarter, Clark maintained their momentum throughout the game, consistently converting on scoring opportunities and capitalizing on fast breaks. Ella Botnar's 12 points off the bench highlighted Clark's depth and versatility.

Southwestern Oregon, led by Helen Wolfe's 17 points and Kali Hibbert's 15 points, struggled to match Clark's intensity and efficiency. The home team faced difficulty penetrating Clark's defense and converting from beyond the arc, shooting 24.1% from three-point range.

With this victory, Clark improves to 10-10 overall and 2-5 in conference play, while Southwestern Oregon drops to 5-13 overall and 1-6 in conference.

Clark's next challenge will be on Wednesday when they travel to Chemeketa (14-6, 3-4 NWAC).
