Tacoma Battles to Draw Against Undefeated Clark in Gritty Match

In a tense showdown at Kindsfather Field on the campus of Clark College, Tacoma fought tooth and nail to earn a hard-fought 1-1 draw against the undefeated Clark squad.

Clark opened the scoring early in the 10th minute, as Sophomore, Randy Valdivia capitalized on a well-placed shot past Tacoma's goalkeeper Manny Zuniga. The goal came amidst a flurry of early attacks from Clark, showcasing their offensive prowess.

However, Tacoma regrouped and gradually found their rhythm in the game. The defensive line, anchored by Cris Posadas and Alvaro Rubio, held firm against Clark's relentless attacks. Manny Zuniga, in goal, made crucial saves throughout the match, including a penalty save early in the game that kept Tacoma within striking distance.

The pivotal moment for Tacoma came in the 61st minute when Lance Nelson found the back of the net, leveling the score with a precise finish. The goal injected new life into Tacoma, who pressed forward in search of a potential winner.

As the game progressed, tensions escalated with both teams battling intensely for control. Tacoma's Kevin Aguilar was shown a red card late in the match, reducing them to ten men. Despite being a player down, Tacoma continued to defend stoutly, with Nelson nearly snatching a late winner only to be denied by Clark's goalkeeper Jake Bilsborough.

The match concluded with both teams sharing the spoils—a testament to Tacoma's resilience and Clark's determination to maintain their unbeaten streak. The draw leaves Clark undefeated but serves as a morale-boosting result for Tacoma, who showed great character and determination throughout the game.

Next up the men (5-0-1, 5-0-1) host South Puget Sound (3-8-1, 3-2-1) Wednesday at 4:00pm.
