Clark Overpowers Corban JV with 100-60 Victory

Vancouver, WA – Clark College displayed their dominance in a 100-60 win over Corban University JV on Tuesday night, extending their perfect start to the season. The Penguins, now 6-0, showcased their offensive depth and defensive prowess, overwhelming the Warriors in both halves of the game.

Corban University kept the contest close early on, ending the first half with a deficit of just 12 points, 44-32. However, the second half was a different story as Clark's high-powered offense exploded for 56 points, allowing them to coast to an easy victory.

First Half: A Strong Start for Corban
The game began with Corban putting up a resilient fight. Guard Dave McCallum led the way for the Warriors in the first half with 8 points, while Jaydon Hall and Cannon Anderson each contributed a solid 6 points. Despite shooting just 31.4% from the field, Corban managed to hang in the game, thanks to an 8-of-17 performance from the free-throw line.

Clark, on the other hand, came out strong with Theo McMillan scoring 12 points in the opening half. Despite missing most of their three-pointers (1-of-7), the Penguins were effective inside, grabbing 19 rebounds and capitalizing on the Warriors' turnovers. The balanced scoring attack, led by McMillan, kept Clark ahead as they built a 12-point lead by halftime.

Second Half: Clark Pulls Away
Clark came out in the second half on fire. Their shooting percentage skyrocketed to 51.2% from the field, and they began to dominate in the paint, scoring 62 points inside. Clark's defense also stepped up, limiting Corban to just 28 points in the second half and forcing them into tough shots. The Penguins' depth was on full display, with all 12 players who saw action contributing to the scoreline.

Zion Milare added 11 points in the second half for Clark, while Jase Whittaker drained three more three-pointers, finishing the game with 13 points. The fast-paced tempo and balanced scoring from players like Jackson Esary (11 points), Terrell Moorer Jr. (10 points), and Milare kept the Warriors at bay.

Key Performances:

  • Clark's Theo McMillan led all scorers with 19 points, shooting an efficient 8-of-11 from the field.
