VANCOUVER, Wash. - In a high-energy showdown, the Clark Men's basketball team secured a decisive victory against Pierce College with a final score of 93-80. The win propels Clark to a 2-0 record, maintaining their undefeated start to the season.
The game showcased the depth and versatility of the Clark penguins, with an outstanding performance from six players scoring in double digits. Sophomore, Brendan Beier, led the charge with an impressive 16 points, while Sophomore, Samuel Igbonagwam, contributed 15 points and 7 rebounds. Freshman, Terrell Moorer Jr., displayed an all-around game with 15 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists, while Sophomore, Keenan Coleman, added 15 points and 4 rebounds to the mix.
One key aspect of Clark's success was their dominance in second chance points, outscoring Pierce 11 to 5 in that category. The ability to capitalize on offensive rebounds played a crucial role in extending their lead and controlling the flow of the game.
The penguins' bench proved to be a significant factor once again, providing a substantial contribution by scoring 38 of Clark's 93 points. This depth not only highlights the team's overall talent but also underscores their ability to maintain a high level of performance throughout the game.
The first half of the game saw both teams locked in a tight battle, with the score tied. However, the penguins came alive in the second half, shooting an impressive 61% from the field. In contrast, the red raiders struggled with a 33% shooting accuracy. As Clark continues its winning streak, the team's resilience, depth, and second-half performance will undoubtedly be crucial elements to watch in the upcoming games. The penguins' fans have every reason to be excited as their team showcases the determination and skill necessary for a successful season.
