Coach McGraw graduated from Battle Ground High School in 1986 where he was a standout athlete. During his senior year he was drafted in the 32nd round by the Cleveland Guardians but opted instead for a full scholarship to attend Washington State University. As a Cougar, McGraw was a part of four championship teams from 1987-90. Then, he was again drafted, this time in the 6th round by the Milwaukee Brewers in 1990.
As a pro, McGraw pitched on three championship minor league teams throughout eight seasons of professional play for the Brewers, Marlins, Red Sox, Cardinals and Montreal Expos. Eventually, McGraw made it all the way to "the show" with the Cardinals.
After his time in professional baseball McGraw began a long coaching career that has included stops at his alma mater Battle Ground, where helped to lead them to state in 2010. He joined the college ranks for a year coaching at Clark College in 2011, but later returned to high school with King's Way Christian, helping them to State in 2016.
Personally, McGraw has been married to his wife Heidi for the past 25 years and they have three children; Sydney, Savonna and Colby. A devout Christian, he loves to give back to his community and the game of baseball with his volunteer work at North Clark Little League where he served as league president for three years. Professionally, he is an in home care provider.
