Sarah Coon

  • Title
    Assistant Coach

Sarah Coon began running competitively in middle school following in the footsteps of her older sister. In 2011, as a junior, she was honored with the New York State Sportsmanship Award at the Outdoor Track State meet- early indications of her blend of performance and character. Sarah went on to compete at St. John Fisher College, logging notable performances throughout her career in Cross Country and Indoor & Outdoor Track, where she still holds the school records in the 1000m (Indoor) and 1500m (Outdoor).

Sarah's coaching philosophy is rooted in creating an inclusive team culture that celebrates personal growth and collective success. Her goal is to build a program where every runner- regardless of pace - feels valued, empowered, and inspired to excel.

After moving to the West Coast in 2019 with her husband, Sarah built a career in project management, most recently with Nike WHQ, where she specialized in operations and process improvement. Outside of coaching, she enjoys exploring the Portland food scene, hiking, and camping.
