Madeline Johnson Signs with Northwest University to Continue Soccer Career

Johnson had a stellar career at Clark
VANCOUVER - Clark College sophomore Madeline Johnson has officially signed her National Letter of Intent to continue her academic and athletic career at Northwest University, marking a major milestone in her journey as a student-athlete. The defender from Camas, WA started all 28 matches for Clark in her career and was named to the All-West Region Team both seasons.

"After high school, I wasn't even sure if I wanted to keep playing soccer," explained Johnson. "Then Coach Maddy reached out and encouraged me to give it a shot, and I'm so glad I did as it turned out to be one of the best decisions I've made. My time at Clark has meant everything to me. It helped me grow not just as a player, but as a person. I've built lifelong friendships, learned so many lessons both on and off the field, and been surrounded by teammates and coaches who pushed me to be my best, even on the days I didn't feel like showing up."

Johnson, a standout performer for the Penguins, played a key role in the growth and success of the Clark College women's soccer program. Known for her work rate, consistency, and leadership, she became a dependable presence on the field and a respected voice in the locker room. Her relentless effort, strong soccer IQ, and team-first mentality helped set the tone for Clark throughout her career.

"Maddie represents everything we believe in at Clark: resilience, leadership, and a fierce competitive edge," said Clark College head coach Maddy Wright. "She shows up with purpose, raises the standard, and makes the people around her flat out better. Northwest is gaining an exceptional athlete and an even better human. This next chapter is well deserved, and I'm excited to watch her thrive."

Northwest University, a member of the Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) in the NAIA, provides the next step in Johnson's athletic and academic journey. As she prepares to join the Eagles, she leaves behind a lasting legacy at Clark College and sets her sights on making an immediate impact at the next level.

"Clark gave me a family, and I'll always be thankful for that," said Johnson. "Now I'm excited for my next adventure at Northwest. I've always wanted to attend a smaller school with a strong sense of community, and Northwest immediately felt like home. Everyone was so welcoming, the team culture felt special, and the coaching staff made me feel supported right away. I'm grateful for everything Clark has given me, and I can't wait to take this next step."

Clark College Athletics congratulates Madeline Johnson on her signing and wishes her continued success at Northwest University and beyond.
