Guadalupe Mendoza, a freshman track athlete out of Vancouver, earns this week’s Athlete of the Week by winning the discus and getting 5^th in the shot-put at the NWAC Southern Region Championship’s at Mt. Hood Community College.  Both events produced season bests for Guadalupe.  She threw 123’11” in the discus and 36’ ¼” in the shot put. With those throws she automatically qualifies for both events in the NWAC Championships, which will be held May 18-19 in Spokane.
