Dori began her Clark association in 1972 when Skeet O'connell hired her to teach his evening volleyball class. In 1979, Dori was hired by Gayden Thompson to coach the Chicklet volleyball team. In nine years of coaching, Hawkeye compiled a 178-75 record, taking her teams to the NWAACC tournament eight out of nine seasons. She was selected as NWAACC Coach of the Year in 1983 and '87. In '79, Clark finished second in the Washington Community College Athletic Association (WCCA). The 1987 volleyball team went undefeated during the regular season, a record they still hold today.

Prior to Clark, Dori coached the Ridgefield HS Spudders for seven years compiling a 124-14 varsity record and winning the state championship in 1975 and '76. During her tenure at Ridgefield, the Spudders never lost a league match.
