Freshman, Kolten Snyder wins NWAC Track & Field individual championship

VANCOUVER, Wash. - The NWAC Track & Field championships were held at Mount Hood Community College on Monday and Tuesday.  Many penguins earned their spots on the podiums, with one individual champion crowned.

Freshman javelin thrower, Kolten Snyder, was the sole individual champion for the penguins.  His longest throw reached 199.10 in the Javelin, besting the next closest competitor by nearly 5 feet.

Top three finishers among the penguins included:

Women:
Freshman, Chamerea McGee - 2nd - 100m dash - 12.68
Sophomore, Chloe Lindbo - 3rd - 800m run - 2:18.24
                                             2nd - 100m hurdles - 14.34
Freshman, Natalia Urtiaga - 3rd - 5000m - 20:05.71
                                               2nd - 10,000m - 40:47.69
Freshman, Allyson Crisp - 3rd - Hammer throw - 38.55m

Men:
Sophomore, Jilven Refil - 3rd - 200m dash - 21.86
Freshman, Antoine Wilder - 3rd - 400m hurdles - 56.99
4x100 Relay - 2nd - Anthony Davis, Jilven Refil, Noah Root, Philipp Tistov

The men's team finished the meet with a combined 57 points securing the 5th position.  The women's team finished with 61 points in the 6th position.
