Garvin Breaks School Record

Garvin Breaks School Record

This past weekend the Penguins participated in the Charles Bowles Invitational at Willamette University. Sam Garvin continues to lead the Penguins, this time by breaking the school record, by clocking in an amazing time of 24:52.5. This time is now the new all-time best cross country mark for Clark College and marks him down as the first Penguin to break 25:00 in the 8K. The previous mark was 25:11 and was set by Eric Anderson in 1994.

Coach Bob Williams states "I felt like Sam was ready for a good race but I never expected anything like this. As hard as he's been working though it doesn't surprise me."

The Penguins finished 12th overall with a score of 303 with only three NWAC schools in front of them, Lane (211), Spokane (216), and Clackamas (302).
